Weekly Process and How to Start

     I help clients during online sessions where we see live feedback of heart and brain rhythms that show clients when they are making calm attention. We do this with equipment I mail to clients and that they can use daily. The daily use is what lets clients create deep, lasting change with new skills. The process is proven in research to increase focus better than stimulant medications, increase memory by over 21%, lower chronic pain by 36-77%, and reduce anxiety by 58% more than listening to music (and better than with medication). Sometimes the results are even better with daily practice.

 

     The live feedback for brain and heart rhythms that shows clients when they make calm attention is called biofeedback and neurofeedback. I also give clients easy to do, at home brain health assessments. The tools we use are tools the clients can keep using at home, and health insurance covers these services. I accept UCare, BlueCross, Medicaid, HealthPartners, Cigna, PreferredOne, Medica, and most other insurances.

    After clients schedule with me, they get to use brain health assessments and other tools in the first session that they can use right away at home. In the first session we use a brain health assessment that the client and anyone they know can do for free. These assessments give us more understanding of whether a person needs to work on things like focus, relaxation, memory, flexibility, and steadiness in their neurology. It also guides us with understanding which brain functions need help with neurotherapy.

 

     After the first session I send clients a device that lets us see their heart rhythms and the neurofeedback that is present in heart rhythms. The home equipment lets clients do therapy more often. We use this in our sessions with mindfulness help and counseling from myself for various things. The results that we see are described on the front page.

     In this first session clients also learn how to use biofeedback, neurofeedback based sound therapies that are well proven in research. I have developed a website to share with clients in this first session that becomes a tool for them to use and home. It can be shared with people you know, along with the brain health assessments. The sound training tools have been proven to help people in the following ways:

  • Increase mental performance, and increase impulse control in children with ADHD by more than 55%.

  • Increase short term memory and focus by 21% for adults and students, and up to 30% in people with ADHD.

  • Lower anxiety patients by 58% more than music.

  • Lower chronic pain by 77% while listening.

  • Improve sleep, reduce or stop panic attacks, and help with migraines.

     In the second and third week, we start using the home biofeedback tool that shows us neurology rhythms with live feedback, and then we continue with brain health assessments every few weeks to keep guiding training.

     Clients usually need at least 6 sessions to get enough guidance to learn how to work with the nuances of their attention, anxiety, and specific situation. Some people also want to have ongoing counseling, and their needs change over time. We can continue sessions and these sessions can be weekly or less often. Some clients want to do brain health assessments for guidance every few months without meeting much or at all between sessions. Each person has a unique situation.

     The results clients see in their lives and for loved ones are often remarkable. The results that I describe on the front page are what we work for, and we can sometimes get better results with more home practice.
